Reminders

Happy Easter!

April is upon us already…reminder, the 2017 tax deadline is April 17th, 2018.  The 15th is a Sunday and 16th is a holiday for the IRS (lucky them).

If you are NOT able to file by the deadline, you can always file an extension.  However, if you think you owe or know you owe, please make sure to do everything you can to pay something towards the balance, because the extension DOES NOT give you more time to pay, but to file.  When you do file, the IRS has their right to charge you a late penalty for paying late on any remaining final balance when you do file.

Also, and I’m sure you have done this, but if you haven’t filed your 2014 taxes, please know April 17th is the last year that you can actually file that year to get a refund.  If you owe, the IRS still can collect from you, but April 17th is the last day to claim a refund for 2014.

Please reach out if you have any questions at any time!

Thanks for “reading.”
